Tilal Obadiye, a residential building in Lebanon dating back to the 1930s, underwent an exterior rehabilitation process that involved several technical steps. The initial phase of the project involved sandblasting the outer façade to remove dirt and grime. The next step involved the careful removal of old mortar from the joints of the existing stone cladding. Once this was done, new white mortar was applied to the joints to restore their structural integrity. The façade was then waterproofed to prevent moisture infiltration. Finally, to ensure longevity and stability, the wooden attic on the roof was replaced with a new steel attic. Overall, this rehabilitation process aimed to restore the historical aesthetic and ensure the structural safety of the building while preserving its architectural heritage.
